Import Used Cars to Kazakhstan from China

Kazakhstan sits inside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), so the tariff applied to a used car imported from China follows the EAEU unified customs code rather than a Kazakhstan-only rate. This is the single biggest thing first-time buyers get wrong when they estimate landed cost.

Import rules. No age limit is currently enforced on used passenger vehicle imports, and LHD units clear without modification. The EAEU tariff is calculated on engine displacement and declared value, so we always ask for your target model before quoting duty.

Ports & logistics. Almaty is the standard gateway for southern Kazakhstan and onward CIS distribution; Astana works better if your buyers are concentrated in the north. Both routes run overland from our Xinjiang/Northwest export corridor, which keeps transit time shorter than sea freight alternatives.

What sells. Compact SUVs (Chery Tiggo7/8, Geely Coolray, MG ZS) dominate demand from Kazakh dealers reselling into wider Central Asia. Pickup trucks (GWM Poer) move well outside Almaty and Astana.
