Egypt runs a tight 3-year age window on used vehicle imports, which is the first thing every Cairo or Alexandria-based buyer needs to confirm before sourcing — it rules out a large share of the used inventory available elsewhere.

Import rules. Vehicles must be no older than 3 years at the point of import, and duty plus taxes commonly exceed 40% of declared value. Because of the tight age window, we typically source near-new demonstrator or low-mileage units for Egypt rather than higher-mileage stock.
